Righteous Tactics was born from the bond between a handler and his K9—and rebuilt around faith, family, purpose, and service.

Where It Started
Before it became an apparel company, Righteous Tactics grew from the working-dog world. Our founder, Steve, spent nearly two decades in law enforcement, including ten years assigned to full-time SWAT and eleven years as a K9 handler. He also helped operate and develop the SWAT K9 program, building experience through real work in the field, not theory alone. His work demanded proficiency in tactical K9 integration and advanced K9 medicine, including providing IV care when medically necessary.
The cost behind the calling
When Service Leaves a Mark
Years of high-stress service leave a mark, even when that cost is not immediately visible. Over time, Steve was carrying PTSD, depression, alcohol addiction, and patterns of self-destructive behavior. The struggle brought him dangerously close to suicide and ultimately ended his law-enforcement career through medical retirement.
This part of the story is not here to turn pain into marketing. It is here because recovery makes little sense when the truth of what came before it is erased.
Recovery, faith, and purpose

Change began with finally accepting help. Treatment and recovery required honesty, work, and a willingness to see asking for help as strength rather than failure.
After more than twenty years away from faith, Steve reconnected with it and began to understand the struggle through the lens of spiritual warfare. Life was rebuilt around faith, family, purpose, and service.
The darkness belongs to the story, but it does not get the final word. Light still shines in the darkness.

What Righteous Tactics Is Today
Righteous Tactics evolved from tactical K9 and medical training into a small apparel company. Steve’s wife took over the business in 2026, and the products are designed and printed in Tennessee.
Every design keeps a connection to dogs, whether tactical, patriotic, faith-based, humorous, or made for everyday dog lovers. The company remains rooted in first responders, veterans, working dogs, recovery, faith, and the people who stand beside them.
Customer trust and long-term relationships matter more than extracting the greatest possible profit from a transaction. The goal is to create apparel people are proud to wear and a business worthy of the pack supporting it.
